In 2007, percussionist Camillo Caller from the music group
KOA joined CAMAEL and they have made a studio recording of 6 brand
new songs. You can listen to it on this web page. In 2008 CAMAEL
plan to record new CD on well-known Czech independent label
Indies MG Records.
With a new concert program, which reflects the musical evolution
of the group together with percussionist, they won an enthusiastic
acclaim at several Czech and European festivals (Poland, Germany,
Netherlands, France).
New concert program of CAMAEL is suitable for multi-genre,
worldmusic or folk festivals and also for some sorts of the music
clubs (take a look on detailed new concert program by clicking here).
The ensemble performs also more classical program suitable
as a "crossover" project at classical music festivals
(based on old collections of the Moravian and Slovak love songs
by Leo Janáček and his contemporaries). Take a look on detailed
classical concert program by clicking here.
Repertoire can be modified according to the organizer's
preferences.
Inventive arrangements of the songs are based on melodic
and rhythmic motives taken from the original notation of the melody.
The arrangement of the basic instrumental framework is composed
by Pavel Fischer (first violinist of the kampa String Quartet).
The three-part vocal harmonies are primarily the work of Iveta Kováčová.
The sound as a whole is then created by all the members of the ensemble.
A great part is open for improvisation.
You can listen to samples from CD Camael (Indies Records
2006) in section Our CD.
